With touch, a digitizer is added to the machines hardware. It is a lucid grid display placed on top of the LCD screen. The past resistive digitizers could only handle a single command at a given time.




They worked by applying pressure on a pair of touch sheets. They were not as responsive as you expected.

The capacitive digitizers have gone to replace the older version. They work when the electromagnetic field on the screen experiences some sort of disturbance. They are very sensitive to touch. They also have the ability to respond to more than one command.

These new digitizers allows for correct handwriting recognition.




There are still some characters that cannot be recognized by the system. This technology can be used to enter web addresses or create lists.
